911 Call Accountability

Creating a community system for accountability and assistance.

  • Community members track all calls made to 911 for defined issues.

  • Send a slack/text to your business neighbors to make the same 911 call within minutes of your call.

  • Be accountable for making the call, meeting APD, learning resolution, contacting property owners if on private property.

  • Add the report to the spreadsheet.

  • Reviewing this report log with APD and City Council weekly.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO MOVE THIS FORWARD?

  • Enroll at least 2 people to own this process from start to finish.

Commercial Property Owner Support

Business owners, employees, customers see what is going on more than commercial property owners who are not operating on site.

  • Create communication and increased awareness to address existing issues and offer assistance to commercial property owners which supports a safe environment for everyone.

Possible improvements that can help:

  • Increased lighting- no more dark spots

  • Exterior security cameras

  • Cleanliness of property- remove trash

  • Install loitering signage

  • Up keep of parking lots- paving and striping

  • Identify access to property. Secure if unwanted and necessary.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO MOVE THIS FORWARD?

  • Enroll at least 2 people to own this process from start to finish.

Working with City Council and APD for Long Term Solutions

The challenges that we face are not unique to East Atlanta. Zone 6 covers many neighborhoods that have escalated issues that have been going on for many years.  This is a City wide issue.

  • Create a collaborative way to communicate, share our wins, find solutions and look at how our efforts today build upon long term solutions for a safe, sustainable business district in East Atlanta.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO MOVE THIS FORWARD?

  • Enroll 2 people to help with this process.
